Honda's legendary engine technology offers highly efficient, quiet, environmentally responsible power for outdoor power tools. Honda Power Equipment [HPE] engines do not require any mixing of oil and gas. They run on gas alone. Thanks to Honda's advanced 4-stroke engine technology, Honda Power Equipment uses less gas and oil than conventional two-stroke engines.

This leadership in power equipment design and engineering was clearly evidenced by Honda's commitment to have most of its worldwide general purpose engines meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 2006 emission levels by late 2001.

In 2004, Honda expanded it's Swepsonville, N.C. factory and increased production capacity to 1.5 million engines per year. HPE also produces engines, lawnmowers and other Honda Lawn & Garden Tools using domestic and globally-sourced parts.
